** Cuffed And Stuffed **
*** The
Wicked Fairy ***
by Bobby Mac
part 7 of 14 (the wicked
fairy)
There were three doors leading off the hall itself,
Mooshat opened the first, this door belonged to a dining room,
he opened the second door, this one was to a sitting room. Even
Mooshat knew he wouldn't find clothes in either one of these, so
he tried the third, this one lead into a long, narrow, dark
hallway. He started to walk down the hall when he heard a noise
behind him, he quickly turned around to see a man holding a cloth
over his face staring at him. "Who the blue blazes are you
?!!!", screamed Mooshat, and rushed toward the figure. He
realised too late that it was his own reflection in the wardrobe
door. Crash, bang, he smacked into the door, the impact sent
him reeling back towards the swing doors, at the same time
Rubin having heard Mooshat shout, rushed into the front hall
and was pushing open the swing doors as Mooshat was falling back
against them. Crash!!!, poor Mooshat !, he didn't know what to
rub first. "Idiot!!!", snapped Rubin, "scared of
your own reflection". Mooshat bit his lip and started back
down the narrow hall, when he looked back Rubin had gone back
through the swing doors to the relative safety of the
kitchen. Mooshat started mimicking his brother, "scared of
your own reflection are we ?". " Well, are we ?",
answered back a voice. Mooshat stood still his knees
shacking, he could hardly find his voice, "Who's that ?",
he whispered. " She's the wicked fairy", said a
second slightly deeper voice, "and I'm the invisible man,
who are you ?". "I'm, I'm, I'm Mooshat", he
stuttered. There was a noise like stifled giggling then
silence. "You found someone ?", yelled out
Rubin. "Careful", whispered the wicked fairy, "he
won't believe you". "I stubbed my toe", called
back Mooshat, and started back down the dark hall. "Mooshat,
in here Mooshat" called the wicked fairy. Mooshat followed
the voice past two bedrooms, around a corner and past two more
rooms. "in here", called the voice "in
here".
