*** Ferret ***

by Bobby Mac

part 13 of 14 (ferret)

The two slowly started to shuffle down the hall. They had only gone a few metres,
when Rubin, who was in the lead, let out a load yell. "I stubbed my flipping,
flaming foot". The marbles under foot were now joined by an assortment of tins
of baked beans, spaghetti, and other tinned food stuffs. Rubin jumped up and down
and the more he jumped and danced, the more he hurt himself on the tins and marbles.
In the end he collapsed, exhausted in a heap on the floor.
"I'll get you, you fiddle faddle kids.....", he would of carried on, but something
fast and furry, about the size of a large rat, scampered across his chest.
"F,F,F,F, flaming forests, what was that ?", asked Rubin, obviously scared.
"Furry, big teeth, size of a rat ?", asked Karl.
"Y.Y,Y,Y, yeah", replied Rubin.
"Oh, splendid fellow, that's my pet ferret, did you grab him for me ?", asked Karl.
"G,G,G,G, grab him !!, what the flaming filleted fish would I want to grab a flaming
ferret for, do you think I've got a f,f,f, flipping death wish ?", asked Rubin
"Haven't you ?", asked Karl.
"Look, let me up, we haven't done anything to you kids, let us go and we'll say
no more about it", said Rubin.
"You !! have got to be joking !!", cried Alicia, "you and that fungus faced brother
of yours need a shot of realism in your rear ends...."
"Alicia !!", cried Karl and Douglas together, but Alicia was not to be stopped.
"You're a flap doodle, look it up in the dictionary if you don't know what it means,
you have a fragmented mind, it can't get past f,f, flip, flap, or flop, so here's
some more of your favourite sounding words to familiarise, fascist face ache,
that's you, fears futuristic,feline, that's me".
Before the Reeks brothers could reply, Karl and Douglas started throwing things
at the luckless pair. First came the potatoes, a whole sack, one at a time,
both boys were good shots, Douglas was a bowler in the school cricket team,
and Karl played a mean game of tennis. After potatoes came the frozen chips,
and packs of frozen peas, mixed vegies, and corn on the cob.
