Wings of Love

*** Love Bird ***

by Barry R. Long

Oh love-bird spread your wings out wide.
and allow me to climb upon and ride.
Lift me up to the furtherest heights,
so you can perform your magic rites.
Let me soar upon the winds of love,
just like the fabled snow white dove.
I await love with baited breath,
everything else, I leave till death.
I stand here naked, for all to see,
nothing to hide, all there is, is me.
Take me to that distant shore,
deliver me to her, I ask no more.
For with my lover in my hand,
angels will sing, from sky to land.
I see her picture and I hear her word,
no pretty a feature nor sound I've heard.
so spread your wings, I entreat,
grant that my lover, I can meet.
