While competing in the Rakaia
Salmon Fishing Ann.Comp... after about an hour, I decided that
perhaps my chances of winning the poetry prize might be higher
than catching a salmon... hence this poem was entered and read by
the compere... Mr Jon Gadsby - in the style of 'Sam Hunt' which
was quite funny as it was just a 'thing' he decided to do... which
won me a spot prize...

*** Last
time, This time ***
by 'Jan Johns'
Last time I fished before
today Was up near Cape Reinga Way Not my usual
'cup-of-tea' Really, that's ok by me. Last time was in the
Tasman Sea This time - river-stones were by me. Both times,
I have had some fun, But fish I caught: not-a-one. Next time
"my precious" "It will be mine" OH SO
FINE....
