*** Listening Ear ***

by 'Meryl'

When the pressures of life are too great to bear
And we know all we need is a listening ear
Be it a friend or a stranger, as long as we hear
It can aid us from danger, so that we maybe can bear
To listen and learn is a feat in it's own
To listen, learn and grow will help us atone
In body and soul, in heart and in mind
A listening ear will come from one of the same kind
There are sad times, and lonely times
And down times for all of us
And I know you're having one now
Nothing could make them easier for you to cope with
Nothing I could say
But I know you'll be strong enough
To carry the burden, life has handed your way
