*** Drive On ***

by 'Barry R. Long'

Today it's official, I'm no longer allowed to drive
those litter letters, my eyes could not derive
I fell like a cowboy, with no horse to ride
or indeed a hobo with no drain in which to hide
I used to drive trucks and fly planes in the air
used to drive bull-dozers and loaders, and a crane on a dare
all of these now past, no part of the present they now own
a few little letters was all it took, for liberty to be over thrown
never to have the pleasure of a sunday drive again
it's now official, no longer allowed to drive is a pain
