*** Invasion ***

by 'Barry R. Long'

with stars in their eyes and stripes at their feet
they quickly sign up, there's Suddam to defeat
they're proud of being bullies, and oh so noble
for them waging war has now gone global
they feel so brave at ten thousand feet over head
dropping vicious bombs, while the bible they read
five per cent dead is accepted as just collateral damage
when a country has millions, thats a lot of body bags to manage
continue the slaughter dropping death for over a month
blow up the power and sewerage plants, then rest for some lunch
five hundred thousand bombs fall across the land
now thousands of innocent civilians can no longer stand
then after lunch they send in others on the ground
just in case there's a stray bullet is still floating around
cut off the tv broadcasts, and replace with their own
spinning webs of deceit and lies so doubt is thrown
if reporters show they have no bias, they call him a liar
the next thing you know, there's another case of friendly fire
bribing people with millions of dollars to turn traitor
paid with money stolen from the former dictator
steal all the oil and treasure the country possesses
saying they've got the right cause of Suddam's transgresses
getting the rest of the world to pay for this war of hate
smiling all the way to the bank this Johnny come late
