*** Someone I Met ***

by 'Barry R. Long'

met this lady today
to my surprise she had heaps to say
to call her shy would be a lie
family skeletons they did fly
uncles and aunts were on the list
parents and cousins didn't get missed
like a soap opera events unfold
their misdeeds laid out to be behold
who was with who and who used to be with who
which child belonged to who and who said I do
speaking with character and with style
expressive gestures made the stories last awhile
closer to an experience than a meeting
and on this one the time was fleeting
one thing for sure I'll not forget
this young lady I just met
