*** Sight to See ***

by 'Barry R. Long'

I went to the eye specialist
my eye test was on the list
he sat me down in the chair
to check my sight was clear
then moved close had a look
when his head he did shook
giving stuff pupils did grow
so he could look down low
a bright light all I could see
searching for what could be
gets excited to my surprise
partner also sees what lies
both had look of discovery
to view ailment was lucky
still sporting a child's grin
to me the news was grim
ultra rare was my disorder
a white cane I might order
why it starts no one know
answer when stop also no
couldn't say what causes it
and no glasses he could fit
like ruelet this eye disease
where it stop waiting sees
tell you one thing though
has a name you to know
it best macular distraphy
right now here is the fee
