*** Sleet and Snow ***

by 'Barry R. Long'

my life's path is afflicted with thick sleet and snow
filled with coldness, and not knowing which way to go
my foot prints have vanished, impossible to backtrack
wouldn't if I could, one must go forward not look back
blindly I stumble along going this way, then going that
I've lost all sense of direction, perhaps it's time that I sat
life is much easier with a destination for one to steer
then maybe a lot of these obstacles would disappear
up till now my journey has been as a bottle in the tide
drifting along with it, from responsibility for life I did hide
that was my life before and now it is the present
my new life starts now, let's see, where's life's crescent
