*** T.V. ***

by 'Barry R. Long'

sit blankly staring at the tv screen
there's no picture what this mean
I search through the tv guide
all the programs I can't abide
re-runs, soup operas and the patch
oh I'm lucky there's a cricket match
I think a buggar I don't like sport
I'm a kiwi who would of thought
a police drama a talk back show
no wonder rating are down low
with all these channels to choose
why the best program the news
they invented this awesome media
then only use it to brain wash ya
New Zealand talent is heaven sent
why watch shows american meant
looking at the remote in my hand
I throw it into the umbrella stand
to turn it on is a waste of power
I might as well run me a shower
