*** Hind-sight ***

by 'Rusty Bourne'

I believe myself a man of morals,
although I don't exercise the fact.
I regret the deeds of yesterday,
but I know there's no turning back.
My life's a comedy of errors, each by my own hand,
nothing I've ever organised, has turned out the way I've planned.
I don't blame others for the things I brought to bear,
but I will not have them thinking that I really care.
Them I have tried and convicted, even judged my fellow man,
empathised and sympathised, though never did I understand.
In the end it's simple, I'll die as I've become,
and should I meet my maker, I'll pay for what I've done.
