*** The Trial
***
by 'Rusty Bourne'
We all gather in the
courtroom for the jury must decide, if the defendant before you
is guilty, does a crime abide?. The prosecution has argued that
he has lost his way, does this make him responsible for
everything they say. The evidence is circumstantial,
dismissable at that, based on speculation, irrelevant to the
fact. We're on the search for justice the truth lie there
in, my client is guilty of nothing more than a little
sin. There is no room for morality, or principles at this
time, however it may be distasteful, it doesn't constitute a
crime. Perhaps an error of judgement or a submission to a
whim, maybe counciling is required but certainly no
conviction. We will not call witnesses for we do not wish to
linger, I suggest we examine ourselves before we point the
finger. Reasonable doubt has been established you may not like
the style, but that should have no bearing on the outcome of
this trial. Honoured members of the jury, we do not judge by
race, nor should we by principles, the defense now rests it's
case.
